Studio Open House & Shoot Out

  Classic Pin-Up is an art form that is uniquely American!  Photographers, models, and associated artistis….  Are you interested in the pin-up genre or adding some classic pin-up to your own portfolios?  Whether you just want to network and socialize with colleagues who share an interest in the pin-up genre or participate in a shoot, we have the event for you!  Sly Horse Studio is hosting an event to end the year in classic style.  It is a mixed event which is open to photographers, models, associated artists, and friends who share an interest in and lover for the classic pin-up genre.

Studio Open House: Classic Pin-Up

   The ’Open House’ portion of this studio event is intended as a open house for our studio and a networking event for photographers, traditional artists, models, associated industry professionals, and their guests.  It is a good rason to get out of the house, a great way to spnd the evenign after a long week at work, and prior to the rush of the holiday season.  So, come visit the studio, enjoy the food, mingle and network, observe the shoot, and relax.

   RSVP is appreciated though not required.  No reservations are necessary for the Open House-Networking Event.

Studio Shoot-Out: Classic Pin-Up

   Out evening will begin with two short introductions to ‘Classic Pin-Up.’  Kevin will provide a short history of the pin-up genre followed by a discussion of the psychological and social underpinnings of classic pin-up art lead by Tyger.  Our introductions are intended to offer some insight to enhance the model and photographers ability to render a scene and capture the atmosphere and mood inherent in the classic pin-up genre and essential to creating photographs that glow with the life and energy found in the original pin-up illustrations.  Our presentations are intended for eveyone who is pariticpating in the shoot (the photographers and models) and open to everyone (including general guests).

   Following the introductions, Kevin will highlight studio guidelines and provide a quick walk through of our sets after which the shooting will commense.  The Classic Pin-Up Shoot-Out will involve shoots over two to three simple sets with each set from a different period in the pin-up genre (i.e., a 1920s-30s Set, a World War II Set, and a Post-War Set).

   RSVP is rquired to reserve a space for everyone who wishes to participate in the shoot-out (i.e., photographers, models, and associated professionals).  Reservations are required to guarantee participation in the shoot-out and will be made on a first come first serve basis.  Our feelers and posts have generated enough interest and positive response that we want to arrange for everyone to be able to participate and in the vent that limitations in resources become a factor only participants with reservations will be able to take part in the shoot-out.  We understand things will some time happen though cancellations with less than 48-hours notice may affect your ability to make reservations at a future event.
